Sebastian Larsson: Sunderland midfielder yet to make decision on future

Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson has confirmed he is ‘happy’ in England, but would be prepared to leave the Premier League.

Larsson’s contract at the Stadium of Light expires at the end of the season and no decision has yet been made on the Sweden international’s future.

The 28-year-old has been linked with the likes of Stoke City, Borussia Monchengladbach and several teams in Turkey as Larsson weighs up his options.

Gus Poyet is due to hold talks with Larsson about his situation and the former Arsenal youngster appears keen to take his time before making a decision.

“I am happy and truly enjoy myself in England,” Larsson told Fotbollskanalen.se.

“In my opinion, the Premier League is still the best league in the world overall.

“Therefore, it is a fantastic environment for playing football, considering all the interest in the Premier League.

“I will sit down with the agent and review the eventual options. If the best option is to move from England, there is no problem with that.”

Larsson has made 120 appearances for Sunderland since joining from Birmingham City three years ago and scored the only goal in last week’s surprise win at Manchester United.
