MundoFox’s Ibra Morales Elected to Board of Directors of The Partnership at Drugfree.org

NEW YORK, May 6, 2014 /Emag.co.uk/ — The Partnership at Drugfree.org, the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to finding evidence-based solutions to adolescent substance abuse and addiction, today announced the election of Ibra Morales to its Board of Directors.

Earlier this year, Morales was named President of MundoFox, a California-based Hispanic Broadcast Network in the U.S. that launched in 2012. MundoFox is a joint venture between Fox International Channels (FIC), 21st Century Fox’s international multimedia business, and RCN, the leading Latin American television network and production company belonging to Organizacion Ardila Lulle (OAL). Together, FIC and RCN currently reach over 1.6 billion subscribers worldwide with original series, novelas, dramas, game shows, reality, news and lifestyle programming.

“We are honored and excited to have Ibra join our Board,” said Pat Russo, Chairman of The Partnership at Drugfree.org. “With his leadership in communications and vast expertise in the television industry, coupled with the enthusiasm he has already shown for The Partnership’s life-saving work on behalf of families, we know Ibra will play an integral role in both how we provide services to and successfully communicate with the Hispanic community.”

“I am proud to join the Partnership’s board, an organization I have always admired for its long-standing work in helping families find solutions to preventing substance abuse among kids and teens,” said Morales. “In today’s connected world, we have the opportunity to reach parents, kids and young adults via many social media outlets, as well as traditional media, to make a lasting impact in the world in which they live. And my goal is to explore innovative ways that MundoFox can be influential to the Hispanic community in this endeavor, and more importantly, invite other Spanish-language media outlets to join us in championing this important cause.”

Before joining MundoFox, Morales was the head of Katz Television Group’s national marketing unit, focused on helping advertisers create innovative solutions to maximize local television’s impact and effectiveness in engaging consumers. Through his work with Katz television, Morales created customized campaigns for national advertisers on behalf of hundreds of television stations across the country, while working with national advertising agencies on the communications planning process.

After starting his career at Katz Media, Morales moved on to do sales for Argyle Television and Hearst-Argyle Television. He then served as President of Eagle Television, a new company that was formed from Hearst-Argyle, where he grew the business from the ground and achieved $662 million in billing in the first year alone. Morales then went on serve as Stations Group President for Telemundo Group and Acting Vice President of Network Operations and Distribution for Liberman Broadcasting. He re-joined Katz Television Group in his current position in 2009.

“Ibra infuses everything he touches with a great measure of passion, professionalism and genuine commitment to benefitting the lives of others,” said Steve Pasierb, President and CEO of The Partnership at Drugfree.org. “He is exactly the type of person one would want to have in their life and that fact will advance our mission, engage new partners, motivate our staff – and most importantly – will increase the positive impact of the work we do on behalf of children and families. His insight into the needs of the Hispanic community is invaluable while his grace, positive nature and commitment is what every nonprofit seeks in a board member.”

Morales is an avid marathon runner having completed marathons in New York, Boston Los Angeles and Miami.
