Alex Song: Barcelona midfielder wants Premier League return

Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has revealed that he could return to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old Cameroon international played for Arsenal for seven years before leaving them for the Spanish champions in the summer of 2012.

Song’s current contract with Barca runs out in June 2017, and he admits that he retains a desire to move back to England when he leaves Camp Nou.

“If I leave Barcelona, it will be to return to the Premier League,” he told beIN Sport.

“I will return to England one day, that’s for sure.”

Song has also hailed Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and claims that he could not turn down the opportunity to join Barcelona.

“He (Wenger) was like a father to me,” he said. “He spoke a lot with me when I arrived to Arsenal.

“I wanted to renew my contract with Arsenal but in that case I would have regretted not joining Barcelona.

“Barcelona are the best side in the world.”
