It was just an average New York City commute until Macklemore and Ryan Lewis jumped on the bus.

In a video posted Tuesday to promote the 56th Grammy Awards later this month, the rap duo steps on to the bus and Lewis busts out a boom box and surprises unsuspecting riders.

All of the sudden, “Can’t Hold Us” starts playing, and Macklemore does his thing. The time stamp shows it was taped late last year.

People immediately realize what’s going on and start to laugh and smile. Some capture the moment on their cellphones, and others start clapping along with the melody.

Paper towels start flying.

Dangerously enough, the bus driver starts to clap along too.

Macklemore isn’t the first artist to perform on a plane, train or automobile, or bus. Kanye rapped on a flight in 2010, and Gaving DeGraw did the same in 2013.
