The record $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot failed to get one single winner. The national fascination now will be split between three ticket owners from Tennessee, California and Florida.
The winning numbers were 08-27-34-04-19 and Powerball 10. Each of the winnders to get $528.8 million. However, their identities have not yet been known as the claims from prize money have not been made.
According to the California Lottery, one ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Chino Hills, east of Los Angeles and the other two were sold in Munford, Tennessee, and at a Publix grocery store in Melbourne Beach, Florida.
After the word spread about the winning Powerball jackpot people in huge number gathered outside the California 7-Eleven. Many tried getting autographs from one of the clerks at the store.
It is reported the retaler too will get $1 million as he has sold the winning ticket.
The store owner Bilibir Atwal said he is feeling good and will be sharing the prize money with his employees too even though after tax deduction the prize money won’t be $1 billion.
Aoart from all these the store would be considered as lucky by people of the area.
According to the California law the winners cannot remain anynymous and so gives 180 days time from the draw date for them to collect he cash. In this case the date is July 11.
