Training Day director Antoine Fuqua confirms he’s no longer attached to the big screen version of the hit TV series.
In a recent interview with The Playlist the acclaimed director gave an update about the state of play with the 24 movie: “Yeah, that’s not happening. I don’t think it’s gonna happen at all, definitely not with me. I met with Kiefer, Fox wanted to do it, it was a matter of his schedule before he went off to do his new show.”
Furqua added: “I don’t think he was able to get a proper agreement with Fox. The time just passed, and I went off to go to what I was doing.”
Kiefer Sutherland is currently starring in sci-fi series Touch which started well but has been struggling to maintain an audience the US since. No official announcement has been made but it’s looking unlikely to be picked up for a third season, so if Touch gets canceled a silver lining could be it would likely improve the chances of a 24 movie.
