Bluesky’s Public Web View Lets You Explore Without Login

Bluesky, the social media platform supported by Jack Dorsey’s X, is making socializing easy. They have added a cool feature that lets people view posts without making an account or logging in. Now, anyone can enjoy Bluesky’s posts without the login fuss.

However, the catch is that if you want to actively participate—post content, create an account and join the community—you still need an invitation. But here is the exciting part. Bluesky has made accessing posts easy through shareable links, allowing users to read and share content within individual or group chats.

Jay Graber, the CEO of Bluesky, shared, “We built Bluesky to be a home for public conversation — breaking news, commentary and analysis, jokes and more. And we’re taking one step closer to this goal by releasing a public web view, which means that you don’t have to be logged in to view posts on Bluesky.”

Graber emphasized the convenience, stating, “People can easily view Bluesky posts without being logged in. Sharing will be more convenient — whether it’s a joke you want to text a friend or a post you want to embed in an article.”

Adding a touch of flair to the change, Graber introduced a new butterfly emoji logo, replacing the generic blue sky with clouds. Describing the shift, the company stated, “Like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, we are starting to open up. Posts on Bluesky have been public from the start through the open protocol, but today we’re making them publicly accessible through the app. We’re unfolding a little bit at a time.”

Despite being an invite-only app, Bluesky has managed to attract 2 million users, showcasing its growing popularity. This month, the platform also took a significant step by launching “more advanced automated tooling” designed to flag content violating community guidelines.
