The suspense over the sudden death of Bollywood icon Sridevi is over and Dubai authorities confirmed her death occurred due to accidental drowning in bathtub of a hotel. Her mortal remains have returned back home in Lokhendwala, Mumbai by family members, including filmmaker husband Boney Kapoor and stepson Arjun Kapoor. On the Embraer jet owned by industrialist Anil Ambani. The chartered plane landed at 9:30 p.m. and cremation is scheduled to be held tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
The 54-year-old passed away on Saturday, February 24, in Dubai, UAE, where she had been to attend wedding ceremonies of her nephew. The news was shocking and unbelievable to fans, followers, co-stars and others in Bollywood, and broadly across India.
The legendary superstar leaves behind husband and two daughters Jahnvi and Khushi.
Talking to the media on Sunday Sridevi’s first ever co-star Kamal Hasan recalled his last meeting with the legendary actress saying she was talented and hardworking.
Hasan added, “Just one month before I met her. We both are not great at showing emotions but somehow we both hugged each other.”
Sridevi started her acting career as a child artist when she was just four-year old with a regional language movie in South India. Actor Rajnikant said her tragic death is a loss to Indian cinema.
He added further that Sridevi was born actress and was very innocent off camera.
Sridevi was actress for five decades was won Filmfare Awards five times. She was awarded Padma Shri, too by Indian government.
