Brad Pitt has revealed more emotional aspects of his life in a recent interview for GQ Style. Eight months ago wife Angelina Jolie filed for divorce to end their two-year-old marriage and also the 12-year-old partnership.
The actor said he has started therapy and he is loving it. He has left drinking too and knows to put family first.
In his entire interview the 53-year-old took the name of his estranged wife just once by recommending to check out her new movie First They Killed My Father.
Both shares six children together – Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8. Pitt said both are doing their best to work through the divorce even though the situation is like a death to him.
Initially he had agreed to weekly supervised visits to the kids.
Pitt traveled to three national parks with the magazine and this has resulted with three new covers. In most part of the interview he is heard talking about his transformation after the split.
He said, “I was boozing too much… It’s just become a problem. And I’m really happy it’s been half a year now, which is bittersweet, but I’ve got my feelings in my fingertips again.”
The star was asked about how he managed to stop drinking suddenly. He replied, “Don’t want to live that way anymore.”
After the split he felt so sad living in his Hollywood Hills home and so crashed on a friend’s floor in Santa Monica.
