BREAKING: Man Stabs 8 People In Munich, Germany

Eight people were stabbed by a man with knife in Munich on Saturday. About three hours later the suspect, believed to be a local German, was arrested.

The incidence took place in the Haidhausen area, east of downtown Munich, at around 8.30 a.m.

The man is learned to have been known to police for theft and other offenses. It is learned he has psychological problems.

Police confirmed the incidence was not of a terror attack and it was only the act of a lone attacker. A total of eight people were attacked including a 12-year-old child, but no one was seriously hurt.

Police arrested the 33-year-old suspect few hours later based on the description of witnesses like he was unsaven, heavy, having blond hair, equipped with a black bicycle and a backpack.

City police chief Hubertus Andrae said at the time of arrest the man was carrying a knife. He was known to police for drug offenses, theft and bodily harm.

However, the man didn’t give any information on his motive to the police.

Andrae added the perpetrator had psychological problems and there was no more danger to the public.

Police responded immediately at the incidence and guarded the area at Rosenheimer Platz square, close to the German city’s downtown.
