Anyone with an early Eurostar train to Paris to catch, or a late-night return to London’s Eurostar terminal near King’s Cross, will be glad to know there are cheap hotels to be found within walking distance of the station. Well, budget accommodation by London standards, anyway, and worth checking for bargain rates and special offers.
King’s Cross in London
Like Kings Cross in Sydney, King’s Cross in London is not the most salubrious part of the city. Visitors needn’t worry too much, though, as it’s perfectly safe and a very busy district, and there are plenty of good, cheap hotels in and around the King’s Cross area.
Cheap London King’s Cross Hotels
Some of the more budget places to stay in and near King’s Cross in London, and also handy for St Pancras and Euston mainline train stations, include:
California Hotel
Welcome to the Hotel California. It’s on Belgrove Street, almost opposite the Eurostar station and about two minutes walk away. With 60 rooms starting at about £50 per night, it would be hard to find a hotel that is closer or cheaper. Free wifi is also included.
Crestfield Hotel, St Pancras
On Crestfield Street, which is off the Euston Road and almost opposite the Eurostar terminal, the Crestfield Hotel offers good, basic rooms as cheap as £40 for a single and £50 for a double. Ensuite rooms cost slightly more, and the price includes breakfast. Facilities also include a bar, while all rooms have TV, tea and coffee facilities, and a hair dryer.
Premier Inn London King’s Cross St Pancras
The Premier Inn is on York Way, alongside King’s Cross mainline station and a few minutes to the Eurostar Terminal. It’s a pleasant hotel and room rates hover above or below the £100 per night mark, depending on season and availability, though breakfast is not included.
Travelodge London King’s Cross
Less than five minutes walk from Eurostar, this Travelodge is on Grays Inn Road, round the corner from King’s Cross. Some rooms suffer from traffic noise, but with rooms often available at under £100 per night, it’s a cheap and convenient option.
Travelodge London King’s Cross Royal Scot
A few minutes further from Eurostar than the King’s Cross Travelodge, but still walking distance, the Royal Scot is at 100 King’s Cross Road. There is also the risk of some traffic noise, but with rooms as cheap as £99 per night, it leaves change for a set of earplugs.
