Charlize Theron appeared Sunday night on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen for the promotion of her upcoming movie Atomic Blonde revealing at her young age she swam the lady pond and it was just kind of exploring.
Atomic Blonde is an American action spy thriller movie directed by David Leitch and written by Kurt Johnstad. It is based on the graphic novel The Coldest City.
Theron plays the role of a top-level MI6 spy agent named Lorraine Broughton with James McAvoy. The character is bisexual and this is something not represented enough in films, said the 41-year-old actress.
The South African-American actress added bisexuality should be normalized by now and it is important to be reflected on the screen.
Theron was questioned on the show whether she ever had swam in the lady pond. She said yes adding at the younger age people just like a kind of exploring it all, but it is clear she also really liked dudes.
Theron mentioned she had been looking for such a kick-butt role as she believes women can do an action-drama movie too.
The Hollywood actress said people have misconception that only guys are fit for such role or the women need to fight like guys.
She added, “The fact that she uses her high-heel shoe and uses a pot in a fridge, she uses what she has and I think that’s funny and it’s real.”
Atomic Blonde is releasing on July 28, pushed up from earlier schedule of August 11. Earlier this year, on March 12, the film had world premiere at the South by Southwest.
