Lately David Beckham has spoken against the claim that he is staying with his wife Victoria because of “brand Beckham.”
Talking to presenter Kirsty Young on the 75th anniversary of the show BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs he said, “People have talked about ‘do we stay together because it’s a brand?’ Of course not.”
The former professional footballer said the two are together because of love and four amazing children.
The two married in 1999 and have four children together.
He said they are a strong family unit as well as have strong parents and have brought up with the right values.
Beckham added they too make mistakes over the years and sometimes marriage becomes difficult and what is required then is to work through it.
The song choices of Becham include Michael Jackson and Paul McCatney’s duet The Girl Is Mine. He dedicated it to his daughter Hraper Beckham.
He also added his favorite is Something About The Way You Look Tonight by Sir Elton John.
Beckham said he and Elton John are friends and the singer was to perform the same song at their wedding, but unfortunately his had a heart attack while he was on the plane to their wedding venue.
Elton John later performed the song to their house and it was very special for them.
Other favorite songs of Backham are Every Time We Say Goodbye by Ella Fitzgerald.
In his international career Beckham made his first appearance for the England national team in 1996.
