Seamus Hickey and Declan Hannon have been named in Limerick’s starting line-up

Seamus Hickey and Declan Hannon will both start for Limerick in Sunday’s Munster Championship quarter-final against Tipperary at Semple Stadium.

Hickey hasn’t featured for the Shannonsiders since suffering a serious knee injury in last year’s All-Ireland semi-final defeat to Clare, while Hannon made just one substitute appearance during the National League due to ankle and groin injuries.

TJ Ryan has made two changes from the team that lost to the Banner last August. Forwards Shane Dowling and Kevin Downes, both of whom came off the bench during that defeat, are named at wing-forward and full-forward respectively.

Hickey moves from half-forward to corner-back as Stephen Walsh and David Breen both drop out of the starting line-up.

James Ryan and Paul Browne start in midfield while Donal O’Grady captains the side from centre-forward.

Limerick were 1-18 to 1-15 winners when they played Tipperary in last year’s Munster semi-final, outscoring their opponents by 0-9 to 0-2 in the final 20 minutes.

Limerick: Quaid; Hickey, McCarthy, Condon; O’Brien, McNamara, O’Mahony; Ryan, Browne; Dowling, O’Grady, Hannon; Mulcahy, Downes, Tobin.
