France Calls Russia, US To Join Global Coalition To Destroy ISIS

France has called up Russia and United States to join a global coalition after the Paris attacks to destroy Islamic State.

French President Francois Hollande said in a joint session of parliament at the Palace of Versailles the country is at war. He vowed to strengthen anti-terrorism laws and also to increase funds for national security.

Getting standing ovation from the parliamentarians he added the country is in a war against jihadist terrorism and not engaged in a war of civilizations.

France capital Paris was attacked the deadliest by attackers at six locations with guns and bombs. At least 129 innocent people were killed in the coordinated attacks. Islamic State claimed responsibility of the terror acts saying it is in retaliation to the involvement of France in US-backed air strikes in Iraq and Syria.

France increased the attacks on Saturday, after the Paris attacks, at different locations of ISIS in Raqqa city of Syria.

The French President pledged their fighter jets would further intensify the assaults. In coming days he would also meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Barack Obama.

For over one year the US-led coalition has been bombing the sites of Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. Russia joined it in September this year.

Meanwhile, sign of life in France is slowly returning to normal. After about 48 hours of shutdown the schools and museums in Paris have reopened.

A Belgian has been identified as the possible mastermind behind the Paris attacks on Friday that targeted soccer stadium, concert hall, restaurants and bars.
