A world that is quickly becoming globalized needs to be understood on every level. With the use of patent-pending interactive video technology and a dedicated platform, OEI connects the dots on a single issue shared and reported around the world, and then breaks that news down to show how that single issue plays out in each country. OEI participants will be encouraged to coordinate their work with international entities including government and the United Nations and utilize crowdfunding sites such as Indiegogo to fund their community-chosen solutions.
Indeed, according to InfoDev, a global partnership program within The World Bank Group, preliminary modeling estimates that the possible market potential for crowdfunding in developing countries could reach up to $96 billion a year over the next 25 years. In the InfoDev report, AOL co-founder Steve Case highlights crowdfunding’s potential in enabling the “Rise of the Rest.”
