Google CEO Sundar Pichai said Saturday people must support Muslims as well as other minority communities and not let fear defeat our values.
Indian city Chennai-born revealed he came to the US as a university student and today he is one of the highest corporate leaders. He added the success of Google also lies to the vibrant mix of races and cultures among the employees.
Earlier, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg too came out in support of Muslims.
The statements of global business leaders come after last week’s anti-Muslim comments of Republican front-runner for presidential election, Donald J. Trump.
During one of his election campaigns Trump said Muslims should be banned for entering the US.
Pichai wrote on Internet platform Medium he came to the US from India about 22 years ago and was fortunate to get entry to a university. With his hard work more doors were opened for him and he built a career, a family and life too.
The Google CEO further said he felt as much as part of the US as he felt growing up in India.
He added his experience is not unique as the same has been repeated million of times by millions of immigrants that America is the land of opportunity and this is in fact a concrete description.
Pichai mentioned further tolerance, open-mindedness and acceptance of new people is one of the greatest strengths of America and most defining characteristics too.
