One of the biggest names and most celebrated actress in the Indian cinema, Sridevi, passed away due to cardiac arrest on Saturday, February 24, in Dubai, UAE, where she has been to attend wedding ceremonies of her nephew. She was just 54 and healthy without any serious medical complains earlier. The news of her sudden demise came as unbelievable and shocking fans, followers, co-stars and others in Bollywood.
Sridevi’s first ever co-star Kamal Hasan recalled his last meeting with the legendary actress saying she was talented and hardworking.
Hasan added, “Just one month before I met her. We both are not great at showing emotions but somehow we both hugged each other.”
Sridevi started her acting career as a child artist when she was just four-year old with a regional language movie in South India. Actor Rajnikant said her tragic death is a loss to Indian cinema.
He continued saying she was born actress and was very innocent off camera.
Sridevi’s last screen appearance was in Mom, released last year with a plot of a mother agenging daughter’s rape.
The actress of five decades was nominated for ten Filmfare Awards in her life and won five of those. She was awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, too by Indian government.
She took a break from her acting career for fifteen long years and made a comeback with her hit movie ‘English Vinglish.’ Fans defined she looked as wonderful as her youth days.
