India’s T-Series becomes first YouTube channel to reach 100M subscribers

For months the online battle between T-Series and PewDiePie has been seen raging and finally one has been declared the winner.

T-Series, the Indian record label, has touched the milestone of becoming the first YouTube channel to get 100 million subscribers.

Also a film production company, T-Series confirmed the record earlier this week. It mostly shares Bollywood songs and movie trailers on the channel in Hindi.

The first video by the record label was shared on 23 December 2010. In a tweet the company said, “World’s biggest YouTube Channel, T-Series has achieved another YouTube milestone by being the first one to cross an astonishing #100MillionSubscribers.”

The tweet also thanked the subsribers for being part of the journey and said they have made India proud.

T-Series also changed the banner of its YouTube channel. Now it reads: ‘Thank you fans – T-Series is globally the first YouTube channel to cross 100 million subscribers.’

Meanwhile, YouTube too became a part of the celebration by congratulating T-Series. YouTube tweeted, “Congratulations to @TSeries for reaching 100M subscribers!”

YouTube India wrote, “We have a century! Congratulations on 100 million subscribers @TSeries.”

Swedish gamer PewDiePie currently has 96,213,784 subscribers even though it started uploading videos eight months before T-Series started venturing on the platform.
