Given her high profile split from Russell Brand and on/off track record with current flame John Mayer, Katy Perry is certainly more than qualified to dish out relationship advice and the singer has become quite the expert on how to mend a broken heart.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the Firework songstress revealed that she has learned the value of being true to herself and taking control of her own happiness following her past heartbreaks.

“You should always be true to yourself and know self-love before any other kind of love,” the 27-year-old admitted.
Going on to add: “I realised I had to stop blaming other people for my sadness and take responsibility for my own pain and then bring myself to a more positive place. It was hard.
“I’ve had to experience some very depressing times, before being able to heal myself and get back my self-confidence – which had sunk very low.”
Katy’s words of wisdom comes after mounting speculation that she has married musician beau John during a recent vacation to Hawaii.
The loved-up singers set wedding rumours off by inviting 12 close pals to join them in Hawaii as well as ferrying them to the holiday destination by private jet.
“John and Katy flew about 12 of their closest friends to Hawaii,” a source close to John revealed to Life & Style, adding: “They wanted it to be very special, so they flew them on a private plane.”
The insider went on to add that the couple are so loved-up, that it wouldn’t shock friends and family if they were to get married.
“John says all the time that Katy is going to be his wife. He says she just gets him like no one else does.”
