Lady Gaga nominated for Oscars

Finding nominated for an Oscar singer Lady Gaga was overwhelmed and burst into tears. She is up for Best Actress for her performance as Ally in A Star is Born.

The 32-year-old said she overslept when the nominations were read out and after waking at around 8:30 am she knew nothing about her nomination. She learned about it from her manager after making a phone call.

Gaga’s co-star and director Bradley Cooper is also nominated for the Oscars for Best Actor. Added to all these, the film too has been nominated for Best Picture category.

This is the first time Gaga is nominated for the Oscars and she will be facing tough competition from Glenn Close, Yalitza Aparicio, Olivia Colman and Melissa McCarthy.

At the Golden Globes the singer lost to Glenn for the Best Actress prize, but she was able to secure her win the award for Best Original Song.

At the Critics’ Choice Awards she and Glenn tied in the best actress category.

About the film Gaga had earlier said, “You know, I knew I was going to be a part of something special from the moment I heard Bradley sing and when we met to talk about this movie. He is such an incredible visionary, and he’s so precise. Being on set with him every day, watching him work, he’s like a ninja.”
