Laura Whitmore to host Love Island replacing Caroline Flack

Laura Whitmore is to be replacing Caroline Flack as host in the sixth series of Love Island, which is returning on January 12.

Forty-year-old Caroline Flack lately said to be stepping down from the ITV2 series following being charged for assault on boyfriend Lewis Burton.

The 34-year-old Irish presenter said she is excited to host the winter edition of Love Island in Cape Town and is thankful to ITV for trusting her for the biggest show on television.

Laura Whitmore added, “We’ve spoken a lot in the last few days since she stepped down. She has been very kind to me and strongly pushed me for this role.”

She started her hosting career in 2008 after winning a competition and became MTV News face in Europe. She had earlier too replaced Caroline in a hosting gig.

In 2011 Caroline said not to be hosting the next five series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! NOW! She however left it in 2016. Laura replaced her.

Laura and Caroline are friends. This is the first series of Love Island to be aired without Caroline after the show was rebooted in 2015.

About the Love Island the younger celebrity said she is a massive fan of the show and had never earlier been to its villa.

Laura added that she can’t wait to get the Love Island villa and meet the Islanders who will be looking for love.

Meanwhile, for past two years she has been dating the show’s voiceover Iain Stirling and ITV is keeping an eye on both.
