The Hard Out Here singer took to Twitter to deny the reports, though she’s been kinder than usual.
“Why is everyone talking about me being on xfactor next year,” Miley’s new BFF wrote. “No way jose.”
That was positively glowing praise compared to what she’s previously said of the ITV competition.
In September the singer slammed the show over its introduction over The Chairs round where contestants faced being kicked off after being put through in front of a live audience, tweeting: “When did become alright to f*** with peoples minds. X factor has got fully mean.”
Three years ago Lily was even angrier, writing: “X Factor FAIL. Too set up/scripted in my humble opinion… it’s s***. FACT! It’s everything that I detest about modern western culture.
“Cowell is the only one who really benefits. I don’t know how Simon Cowell has managed to get away with essentially copywriting the talent contest. It’s beyond me, really.”
Now brace yourselves for the best bit: “I’ve better things to do with my time than feed the nation with the notion that doing cover versions will sort your life out.”
How times change! A cover did get Lily her first number one in years after all, though she wasn’t finished there.
“I’d rather actually eat my own crap than sit next to any of those goons. Except Cheryl, obvs.”
Yeah, we don’t think we’ll be finding Lil’ anywhere near the X Factor panel any time soon.
