Peru has once again beaten Brazil in a rematch of the Copa America final in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The late goal of Luis Abram registered a 1-0 win over the Selecao and with this Ricardo Gareca becomes first Peru manager to beat Brazil twice.
Brazil started without Thiago Silva, Dani Alves and Neymar. The star players were rested.
Neymar started on the bench while Peru players were in plenty of endeavour and energy.
Just two months ago Brazil had defeated Peru in the final of the Copa America by 3-1. It was the ninth Copa America title for Brazil.
Full back Fagner said, “We had chances and they punished us from a dead ball situation… It’s a learning process and we’ll grow from this, defeats happen and we need to take what we can from it.”
Defender Luis Abram turned hero with the 85th-minute goal. He is 23-year-old with height 5’10” and weight 168 lbs.
