Man attacked and killed with knife, gunshot in east London

A man in his 20s was attacked on Monday night, at around 9.30 pm, in Church Road, Manor Park, in east London’s Newham with knife and gunshot.

The London Ambulance Service alerted police and Scotland Yard responded the call. The victim was found suffering from wounds and died at the scene despite efforts of medics.

Investigation was launched amid increased police presence Monday night in the sealed off area. Murder detectives were notified.

Police has made an appeal to people if had witnessed the killing and to contact on 101 with information.

Separately, three teenagers were attacked on the same day with knife and within minutes of each other in north-east London. Police has detained four in connection.

The teenagers have received injuries to what Scotland Yard describes as not life-threatening.

The incidents have come amid such situation when London is trying to count costs of violent crimes in the city.

Prime Minister Theresa May lately had conducted a summit on knife crime following spate of bloodshed across the city and also in most parts of England since the beginning of 2019.
