A man was filmed Monday while trying to climb The Shard, tallest building in London, 95-storey tower with a height of 1,017ft. He reached the top but was grabbed by cops.
At 5.15 a.m. the man was noticed scaling to the top of Europe’s tallest skyscraper in central London. Cops were called that a free-climber was scaling the Shard and stunned witnesses filmed the horror.
A Met Police spokesman confirmed officers have managed to get the man inside the building in Southwark. He was not arrested.
The footage immediately was circulated on Twitter and users joked about his appetite for adventure in the early hours of Monday.
One of the social media users wrote, “People out that climbing the shard on a Monday morning, I can’t even get out of bed in time.”
One another social media user commented seeing the footage, “What the f***. Hope he had a Go Pro with him. Looking forward to this video!”
David Kevin Williams filmed the horror scaling on the Shard by the mad. Sharing the footage on Twitter he wrote, “The guy’s got to the top and is being spoken to by the police apparently.”
People witnessed two police cars, a drone and two ambulances at the scene after the cops were informed about the incident.
The Shard tower houses restaurants, offices, the highest public viewing platform and a hotel. It was constructed between March 2009 and November 2012. It can be viewed from fifty miles away too.
YouTube stuntman CassOnline climbed the Shard in 2017 and shared his video on the platform. He waited until 9 p.m. on the public viewing platform when it closes and thereafter used the restricted staircase to reach to the tip of Shard.
