The world’s most famous expectant mom Meghan Markle made a surprise visit Monday night to British Fashion Awards at Royal Albert Hall in United Kingdom.
She said, “It is such an honor to be here celebrating British fashion and British fashion designers in my new home of the U.K.”
The Duchess of Sussex is expecting her first child next spring with Prince Harry. She looked elegant in a one-shouldered black column gown designed by Givenchy and kept her hair sleek with a center-parted low bun.
Since her nuptials in May this year Meghan has worn Givenchy on several occasions. This shows she is in close and collaboration with the designer.
Accepting the award, Waight Keller acknowledged Meghan with a thankful note and saying the woman is so amazing.
Virgil Abloh won Urban Luxe award for the second consecutive year. He said, “Samuel (his former assistant-turned-Emerging Menswear Designer of the Year), since his time as my assistant to now, has been a part of this new breed of design.”
Abloh added that Samuel has affirmative intention and is precise in ambience and execution in garments.
This year there were three strong black contenders – Adut Akech, Winnie Harlow and Adwoa Aboah – for Model of the Year award. However, the winner was second generation sensation Kaia Gerber.
Gerbe is the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford.
