In a strategic move, Swedish IoT operator Netmore Group has successfully acquired the public LoRaWAN network assets from Bouygues Telecom in France. The acquisition, facilitated by Polar Structure, the parent company of Netmore, includes the Objenious-branded LoRaWAN infrastructure that Bouygues had initially planned to shut down by 2024. This deal gives it a ready-to-go network and fits with their plan to make a complete LoRaWAN-based IoT network all over Europe.
Bouygues Telecom, in the meantime, has been actively transitioning its IoT accounts to cellular-based NB-IoT and LTE-M networks. As part of the acquisition, Netmore gains control of Objenious’s customer management portal, SPOT and commits to ensuring a smooth experience for existing clientele. Netmore will handle LoRaWAN services in France, taking care of things like managing the network, keeping an eye on it, planning the radio part, doing maintenance, and helping customers. Customers will also benefit from access to Netmore’s existing LoRaWAN roaming footprint in Europe.
Netmore, which previously acquired LoRaWAN operator Nordic IoT Networks in 2021, has been focusing on developing public LoRaWAN infrastructure. The company has grown its network in many European countries like Sweden, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and now France. They have also started working in Poland and Austria and they can connect with other networks in Finland and Switzerland. Netmore expresses its intent to further grow its Objenious LoRaWAN base, offering “coverage on demand for large-scale IoT projects” in Europe and engaging in discussions for substantial IoT deals spanning at least a decade.
Arnaud Delprat, Managing Director of Netmore Group in France, emphasizes the stability and long-term access that the French IoT market now has to professional LoRaWAN services. Netmore talks to current and possible customers and partners, focusing on areas like utilities, resource management, smart buildings, and property owners to help with their big and long-lasting IoT projects.
Ove Anebygd, the CEO of Netmore Group, emphasizes that the company is committed to a plan that includes all of Europe, with France being really important. This isn’t just about making connections better but also about helping French partners reach more opportunities across Europe.

He emphasizes Netmore’s proven track record in LoRaWAN technology across Europe and its potential to advance the work in this field. Objenious, as Bouygues Telecom’s IoT brand, remains committed to developing its technology portfolio with LTE-M, NB-IoT, 4G and 5G technologies, complementing LoRaWAN IoT use cases.
