Thankfully, the reports are wrong. Paul Walker‘s team posted a statement on the late actor’s Facebook page on Tuesday, Dec. 3, to set the record straight on claims that the Fast & Furious stars’ 15-year-old daughter Meadow witnessed his tragic death.
“It is unfortunate that claims are being made to the media that Paul’s daughter Meadow was at the event on Saturday when the accident occurred,” the statement read. “We want to clarify that Paul went to the event alone. Meadow was not at the charity event on Saturday and thankfully, did not witness the accident. Any claims stating otherwise are inaccurate.”
The statement continued: “Sadly, there’s also numerous people creating fake social media profiles claiming to be Meadow. We would like everyone to know that Meadow does not currently have any public profiles and is not currently active on social media. We ask that her privacy be respected at this time.”
Walker died in a car crash in Santa Clarita, Calif. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at the age of 40. The accident occurred shortly after he co-hosted a charity event. Meadow is Walker’s only child with ex-girlfriend Rebecca McBrain, and she recently moved to L.A. to live with him.
On Monday, Dec. 2, the She’s All That alum’s father, Paul Walker III, gave an update to reporters on how Meadow was coping with the loss of her dad. “Meadow is taking it really tough,” he shared. “[But] she has family around her and some very, very loving friends. They’re all close. There’s a lot of hugging, a lot of hand-holding.”
