Poole Tops Following Truro In South West’s Happiest Place

Poole is the happiest place to live in south west while Truro stands in second position in a new survey.

Considering the whole of Great Britain the winer of Rightmove’s annual survey is Royal Leamington Spa in the West Midlands followed by Leigh-on-Sea and Wirral, which topped in last year’s list.

The Rightmove’s Happy at Home 2017 survey is based on questions asked to 17,000 people across Great Britain about various aspects of the place they live.

Few of the questions were like the friendliness of locals, levels of community spirit, amenities, local services, feeling safe and also earning enough to live comfortably.

Poole has topped the south west and is placed 9th in the whole of Great Britain. However, the second in place, Truro, in south west is seen to have cheaper properties compared to Poole.

Average property price in Truro is 255,297 pound while that of Poole is 337,501 pound. The data has been taken from the Land Registry.

Most of the houses sold in Truro in 2016 were detached properties and fetched an average of 349,446 pound while the terraced one sold for an average of 217,198 pound. The average price of semi-detached properties last year was 237,912 pound.
