Rapper Freddie Gibbs Arrested In France On Rape Charges In 2005 In Australia

The Friday night concert of Freddie Gibbs at Toulouse’s Le Rex in France got cancelled after his arrest on Thursday on rape charges alleged to have taken place way back in August 2005 in Austria.

The Shadow of a Doubt rapper was issued a European warrant and extradition is now being looked by Austrian authorities to question related to investigation under process in Austria.

Gibbs meanwhile has denied all such allegations. His lawyer said it is point to ponder why the Austrian authorities have taken about a year to bring the charges against him.

Gibbs was to perform his scheduled Vienna Austria concert on May 26, but it too was canceled abruptly.

Gibbs tweeted the same evening without mentioning his arrest warrant has been issued. He said, “Apologies to my fans in Vienna, Austria. Had some transportation issues. Will be back soon.”

Gibbs was also to perform in London, Marseilles, and Porto, Portugal. However, the status of remaining European sows is still not clear.

On June 17 he was to perform in Toronto, in his American concert schedule.

Very recently the 33-year-old rapper also disclosed to be reteaming with Madlib for the follow-up to Pinata, one of Rolling Stone’s 40 Best Rap Albums of 2014.

Born Frederick Tipton in Gary, Indiana, the rapper is not shown have canceled his performance in London, France, Portugal and Toronto on his website.
