French design house Balmain has announced that popstar Rihanna has been selected as the celebrity spokesmodel for their upcoming Spring/Summer ad campaign for 2014.
It’s interesting that a huge fashion label like Balmain would select Rihanna to model their clothes considering how infrequently the woman actually wears clothes but let’s not forget that Ri Ri has enjoyed some success as a former celebrity spokesmodel for Armani Jeans as well as Armani Underwear.

And this is what Balmain has to say about this new partnership:
“In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world,” said Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing, characterizing his casting coup as a dream come true. “When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete,” he added, describing the “icon” of his generation as uncompromising, fresh and modern.
Despite Ri Ri‘s penchant for nudity, it does make sense that any fashion house would want to partner with her on an ad campaign.
Rihanna is very active on social media so anything that she’s promoting, she is promoting very well (including her love of the smokey smoke but I don’t think the Balmain folks will be focusing on that part of her love of oversharing very much).
And when she does put on these fine ass threads, she really does look great. Clothed or unclothed, Rihanna knows how to sell a product.
