Ronaldo’s Hat-Trick Saved Portuguese With 3-3 Draw Against Spain

It was an outstanding performance of Cristiano Ronaldo at the Fisht Stadium in Sochi with a hat-trick and rescuing Portuguese witb 3-3 draw against Spain in the country’s opening match in FIFA World Cup 2018 on Friday.

It was also the best game of the tournament so far. Spanish forward Diego Costa notched a double and the team was leading by 3-2 with a goal by Nacho. Ronaldo’s brilliant last moment goal altered the result.

Roanldo made history too. He became the fourth player to score goals in four World Cups. The other three players are Miroslav Klose, Pele and Uwe Seeler. It seems age is not withering the Portuguese captain.

Ronaldo even scored in the last four European Championship tournaments.

The other two matches yesterday were interesting too. Iran won by 1-0 against Morocco and it was the first World Cup victory since 1998.

Uruguay defeated Egypt with a goal after 80 minutes by Jose Maria Gimenez. This was the first win by the country since 1970 in an opening game at a FIFA World Cup.
