Samsung Launches Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus Flagship Smartphones

Samsung launched today Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus flagship smartphones and preorders have gone live through all the four major carriers in the United States and Best Buy. The devices will be shipped April 21 onward. From the same day the two high-end devices will hit the stores too.

Prices may vary across retailers but it would be around $750 for the S8 model and $850 for the elder sibling. The Best Buy has promised for a savings of up to $100.

With the preorders all the carriers are offering a Gear VR without any additional cost and this is the reason potential customers should buy online instead of from stores.

Some of the carriers are also learned offering a $99 Experience Box with a Gear VR and Controller.

Both the phones come with bezel-less displays. The Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch screen while the Galaxy S8 Plus comes with a 6.2-inch display. Both offer a resolution of 2960×1440 pixels.

Security features have been updated and the phone can be unlocked with an Iris scanner, facial recognition and a fingerprint scanner.

The phones are mounted with a 12-megapixel rear camera touting low-light performance, anti-blur, and enhanced image processing. The front part is equipped with an 8-megapixel shooter.

Samsung has added a voice assistant similar to Apple’s Siri and Google’s Assistant. It is called as Bixby.

The South Korean giant said, “Bixby is an intelligent interface that will help users get more out of their phone. With the new Bixby button, you will be able to conveniently access Bixby and navigate through services and apps with simple voice, touch and text commands.”
