Here comes the second solo album of Selena Gomez. Titled as Revival, it is musically daring and also can be said to be an introspective version of the pop-starlet. It is more of a stripped version than just pounding beats and what it is called as the overstylized voice of her contemporaries.
Lets talke about the music first. Most of those got a bit of house influence like the Hands To Myself and Kill Em With Kindness. Not to forget mentioning here, the Me & The Rhythm is inspired by the 80s dance music. The chorus is heavy and catchy in it – “All I need is the rhythm.”
The “God for You” hitmaker plays in the album with different international sounds such as giving the Bollywood feel permeating Me & My Girls and with Reggae sitting in the back of Same Old Love.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old is also subject to undue speculation. She is being talked about her state of mind and her weight.
With the release of her album Gomez is sure to come under microscope too as Revival is the perfect gift by her to all the fans who have been starving for new music. It has been much anticipated and to provide a lot of material too.
Revival has some grabby textures. She has collaborated with Top 40 regulars including Swedish duo Mattman & Robin, Stargate and Benny Blanco.
An ungentle tabloid had earlier talked about her health as well as her relationship with pop sensation Justin Bieber, and probably from chatter pages she got inspired to write the lyrics of Kill Em Witb Kindness. One phrase strikes as, “The world can be a nasty place.”
