Sky Ride heads to Lancashire this weekend

The second Sky Ride of 2014 takes place in Lancashire this weekend.

Sky Ride Bolton begins on Sunday morning at 11am and will follow a traffic-free route taking in the Town Hall, Le Mans Crescent and Queen’s Park.

The event will feature a guest appearance from Olympic champion Jason Kenny, who will also hold a Q&A.

Sky Ride ambassador Sir Chris Hoy said: “We want more people to enjoy riding a bike – that’s why Sky and British Cycling have teamed up to bring you Sky Ride.

“We have made it easier than ever to get out on your bike and spend quality time with your family and friends.

“Sky Rides close towns and cities for big bike events so you can ride safely on traffic-free streets, with a huge festival atmosphere and loads to do both on and off the bike. They are great fun and a great way to get on your bike.”

This year Halfords are offering all Sky Ride participants a free bike check worth £14.99.

British Cycling and Sky are also working together to deliver Sky Ride Local guided rides, which are a series of free, small, weekly community bike rides that take place every Sunday.
