Russell Slade: Looking for positive reaction from his players
Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has urged his disappointed side to ‘do a Brentford’ next season.
The O’s, who led League One for much of the season, were pipped to automatic promotion by the Bees and then lost the play-off final on penalties to Rotherham.
Brentford clinched their place in the Championship a year after their own end-of-season heartbreak, when they were denied promotion on the final day before also losing out at Wembley.
“We have to sit down, reflect and see what maybe we could have done better and then go again,” said Slade.
“The thing to do is look at what Brentford did. They bounced back after the disappointment of missing out in the play-off final against Yeovil.
“We need to use that as a model and make sure we react in the right way, come back and see if we can do it next year.”
