Summer 2014 Film Preview

The period of summer blockbusters has begun with Iron Man 3, the third installment of the superhero franchise. Most of us know what great movies will be in store for us this summer, so this will be a good opportunity to find out what will be coming to cinema screens NEXT summer in 2014.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
4th April 2014
This sequel sees Captain America (Chris Evans) struggling to settle into the modern world, since the events that happened in The Avengers and on top of that, he has to team up with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) to take down his latest nemesis, Crossbones (Frank Grillo).

The Amazing Spider-Man 2
18th April 2014
After the events of the first, we see Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) take on two new enemies, Electro (Jamie Foxx) and The Rhino (Paul Giamatti). Also with the introductions of Mary Jane Watson (Shailene Woodley) and Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), personal conflicts are bound to take place too.

Godzilla
16th May 2014
The classic monster movie gets another remake from Monsters director Gareth Edwards. Aaron Johnson, Bryan Cranston and Ken Watanabe are among the cast.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
23rd May 2014
After the successful Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a group of humans form a resistance to battle against the evolving apes. Andy Serkis returns as Caesar.

Jurassic Park IV
13th June 2014
The long-rumored fourth installment of Jurassic Park may just be arriving at our cinema screens after all. Plot and cast yet to be confirmed, and Safety Not Guaranteeddirector Colin Trevorrow steps into the director’s chair for this outing.

Transformers 4
27th June 2014
This is start of a new trilogy in the Transformers franchise, this time starring Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci, with Kelsey Grammer cast as the villain.

X-Men: Days of Future Past
18th July 2014
Everybody from X-Men: First Class and the original trilogy all appear in this time-travelling adventure as the X-Men must prevent a major catastrophe that could affect mankind by travelling in time. Bryan Singer returns to direct and among the newcomers is Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage.

Guardians of the Galaxy
1st August 2014
Yet another Marvel film is set for release, but not a sequel this time. A US pilot is caught in the middle of a war in space as he crash lands and ends up on the run with a group of ex-cons. Casting is still in process and it is said to be connected to The Avengers 2.
