Wes Thomas: Turned down new deal at Rotherham

Striker Wes Thomas looks set to leave Rotherham after turning down a new deal at the Championship new boys, Sky Sports understands.

Thomas, who is out of contract this summer, was offered a new deal to keep him at the New York Stadium with Steve Evans keen to keep hold of the 27-year-old as he plans for life in the Championship next season.

However Thomas, who joined Rotherham on a short-term deal in January, has been unable to agree terms and is free to leave the club.

News of Thomas’ availability on a free transfer is sure to alert a host of clubs, with several Championship and top League One sides confirmed admirers of the former Bournemouth and Birmingham forward.

Thomas scored six goals in 16 appearances for Rotherham, including one in the League One play-off semi-final win over Preston.
