What To Do With Old Game Consoles

If you are buying new game consoles, do you know what to do with the old consoles? Here are some tips:

DVD, Blu-ray player

Your previous versions PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 can play DVDs. So, don’t purchase a new DVD player if you are planning for one for your second TV. Save some money as you can play DVDs on these two consoles. The PS3 even plays Blu-ray discs, which is an added advantage.

Streaming box

Streaming is the new technology of watching movies these days. You need Apple TV or Roku for this, but your old consoles are capable of streaming movies. So, don’t sell your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 if you have bought new ones. Use these to watch streaming stuff from Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Instant Video, Crackle and few more streaming services. Remember, the Xbox 360 even has an exclusive HBO Go app to help you never again miss another episode of Game of Thrones. Well, you also need to be a HBO subscriber for this.

Sometimes you may like to play classic games. These old consoles are high-powered gaming machines and you can play older titles like The Last of Us, Grand Theft and Halo 3 here as the newly launched PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are unable to play these older disc-based games.

Sell out

You may be having a DVD player in your house. You may also be having a streaming box. In such situations the above said may not fit you. Still, you can sell your old console for some hard cash. You trade it for in-store credit at GameStop and other retailers. You can also sell it on eBay or Craiglist for reasonably good money. Next, you can use the money in buying a new console.
