Xbox Series X will be called Xbox: Microsoft

The clarification related to the naming of next gen Xbox has been revealed and Microsoft said the new gaming console would be called just Xbox.

Announced last Friday the new Xbox machine was then named Xbox Series X and no explanation was attempted to theorise the naming.

Microsoft said, “The name we’re carrying forward to the next generation is simply Xbox… And at The Game Awards you saw that name come to life through the Xbox Series X.”

The company added that naming like Xbox Series X means allowing room for additional consoles.

For years there had been rumors multiple models of next gen Xbox gaming consoles would be launched. Lately it was leaked Microsoft could come up with a more expensive next gen Xbox called Xbox Series S and later followed by cheaper versions.

However, Microsoft has not yet confirmed how powerful will be the new machine in comparison to the older consoles. The company has also not confirmed about its cost. So, all such related news are just speculations.

It is learned Microsoft would soon stop selling Xbox One and if it happens, the confusions are to end. But before that it is worth looking back at the four consoles and those are called Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox.

Not to forget here Microsoft has often said to be breaking down the barriers between generations and hence the current era sees rise of streaming, coming generation could be the last traditional console and thereafter Xbox will be forever.
