Laurent Blanc: Staying put at PSG

PSG chairman Nasser al-Khelaifi says Laurent Blanc is staying put despite reports linking him with a move away.

The 48-year-old had been mooted as a potential replacement for the under-fire David Moyes at Manchester United, the club where he ended his playing career in 2003 after two years at Old Trafford.

Blanc guided PSG to the French League Cup title, beating Lyon 2-1 to secure his second piece of silverware since taking charge of the club last year where he has another year to run on his deal.

The current French champions are seven points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand over second-placed Monaco and five more fixtures to play.

Reports in France have suggested that Blanc will pen an improved deal that will keep him in Paris until 2016 and al-Khelaifi insists that he is going nowhere.

“Laurent Blanc will stay with us,” he told L’Equipe.

“He is very happy and there is no reason for him not to stay.”

Blanc extending his deal would also put to rest the speculation linking Arsene Wenger, who is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer, with the PSG post.
