Kim Kardashian has made no secret of her admiration for Dame Elizabeth Taylor over the years and yesterday she paid homage to the screen legend by recreating one of her most famous photographs.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim, 33, uploaded a picture to Instagram on Monday night (9 December) showing herself posing in front of an image of Liz.
She added the simple caption: “#MyIdol.”
Kim and Dame Elizabeth struck up a friendship shortly before the actress’ death in 2011 when Kim interviewed Elizabeth for a feature in Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
She even recreated Elizabeth’s famous Cleopatra character for an accompanying photoshoot.
Elizabeth, 79, passed away on 23 March, 2011 at a hospital in Los Angeles following congestive heart failure.
After the legendary actress’s death, Kim called meeting her “one of the greatest highlights” of her life.
Kim shared a photo in Sep 2012 showing herself wearing a robe worn by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra.
“I never felt so lucky and fortunate. It was truly the greatest honour and dream of mine to be the iconic ‘Elizabeth Taylor’ for one day!” she said.
“As I got to know her, I saw her beauty both inside and out, loved her humour and business mind, and her spirit for life was truly amazing and contagious.”
Kim remembered her idol in September last year by uploading a picture to Instagram showing herself wearing a robe worn by Elizabeth in Cleopatra.
She wrote alongside it: “Forever grateful to Elizabeth Taylor! She lent me this robe she wore in Cleopatra! Shot by Terry Richardson.”
